Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev acquainted himself with the construction in Heydar Aliyev Center in Narimanov district, President’s press service told APA. The construction of Heydar Aliyev Center covers 15.25 ha area. Concrete and electrotechnical work of the parking lot has already finished. The construction of the main building of the center began early in 2008, the work continues. The President was told that 85 percent of the concrete work in the main building had finished. Four-level tunnel uniting the parking lot with the main building, the road leading the main building, communication center, concrete work in the provision gallery have finished. Reconstruction is about to end in the landscape area on the parking lot. Plants were grown in 5,000 sq m area, 2 decorative pools were built, concrete work on the stairs and pedestrian roads finished.

According to the project, Heydar Aliyev Center will consist of three main components and two supporting structure. The main component of the project includes library and media center available for “online” access to worldwide information network, conference hall with 1284 seats, exhibition halls for national and world arts, as well as museum and center demonstrating history and cultural heritage of Azerbaijan.

The supporting structure will include two exits of the center, foyer, parking lot, infrastructure facilities etc.
