Justice Ministry’s official Fazil Mammadov: “It needs to address issue of granting status of public officer to members of election commissions”

The Central Election Commission (CEC) continues the training courses for local election officials. CEC secretary Natig Mammadov made a report “Local self-administration – rules of municipal elections, counting and publishing votes” on Tuesday, APA reports. He said the election commissions were improving their activity year-by-year and winning voters’ confidence. Mammadov said the elections were controlled by local and international observers and there were sometimes justice and injustice remarks. “The most important issue for the election officials is to win the voters’ confidence”. Mammadov instructed the local election officials about the preparations and duties of the election commissions.
Deputy Chief of the Justice Ministry’s Center for Municipalities Fazil Mammadov made a report on “Election Legal System and Legal Relations”. He said the election commissions undertook main duties during the elections. He emphasized importance to address the issue of status of the local election officials. “Members of the election commissions are implementing the election policy of the government. I think it needs to address the issue of granting status of public officer to members of the election commissions”.
The courses held within the “National Action Plan on Human Rights” will last for a week.
